BACK TO KOTD Interview Raymond BRAMWELL

Caroline & Elodie : what was your role in the shooting of Kiss of the Dragon ?

Raymond : Hmmm... Well I'm sure you're aware that I can't give away too much about Kiss of the Dragon. All I can tell you is that my part was that of a tourist. I was basically reading a small pocket map on a fairly busy train, and just happened to be in the same carriage as Jet.

C&E : what are your impressions about the whole crew? Was there a good atmosphere?

Raymond : The atmosphere on set was really great, the production team were very organised, friendly and professional! The other extras seemed pretty excited when Jet was around, and there was a really nice "buzz" in the atmosphere!

C&E : Did you have to rehearse a lot?

Raymond : Rehearse? Well my task wasn't too daunting, as I commute to work everyday I'm a seasoned veteran when it comes to travelling on the Metro! Hahaha... Nah, but seriously, I didn't have any dialogue in the scene I just had to stand there reading! I spoke to a few of the other extras that had speaking parts, (one of them is an up and coming singer) they all seemed to be just going through their lines now and again.

C&E : How is Jet at work?

Raymond : Jet was really calm and relaxed on set, he was also very friendly and forthcoming when approached by fans. He seems very focused when the time comes for him to perform.

C&E : What did impress you the most about his way of working?

Raymond : Jet is able to snap in and out of character "just like that", take after take, hour after hour, Jet had to do the same thing over and over again. It didn't seem to bother him in the slightest though, (after all Jet is an experienced actor, with a HUGE portfolio)! In the short breaks whilst the crew were preparing for different shots Jet even took the time to mingle with some of the other extras. It was the longest, and most tiring train journey I've ever been on I must say!

C&E : What kind of relationship do you think he had with Luc Besson?

Raymond : Jet and Luc seem to have a very good working relationship. My first experience of Luc was when he introduced himself and shook hands with me in Jet's trailer. He was actually looking for Jet at the time, and wanted to see how he was doing and stuff.

C&E : Would you like to try this experience as an extra another time?

Raymond : Jet asked me a similar question on set, after travelling up and down on the Metro for several hours! He asked if I still liked the idea of making movies, (knowing that by this time I must have been pretty tired).
Even though its tiring work, it really is a great feeling to be part of a team like that (even if it is a small part of the team). I would jump at the chance to do it all again, a scene with dialogue would be great, or an action scene! That would definitely be pretty cool, maybe I could be Jet's trusty sidekick... Hehehehe.... (Yeah yeah, I know.... But I can dream, can't I?)
